About the instructor
Aliyah Husain | Singer, Actor, Dancer
Aliyah Husain is a Toronto based performer, currently studying Musical Theatre at Queen's University. She is a recent graduate of St.Lawrence College's Musical Theatre program and is passionate about the arts and performing. Select previous credits include, The Last Night At The Cabaret Solitaire (Queens University), Coricopat in Cats (SLC), and a Follies girl in Crazy For You (Scarborough Music Theatre).
Aliyah is so excited to be partnering with SMTY to offer another spring and summer of drop-in dance classes!
Prior to University, Aliyah performed in SMTY's Camp Broadway and participated in Several Summer Teen Intensive Weeks.
Aliyah is a trained dancer and new member of the BATD (British Association of Teachers of Dancing). She is passionate about performance and education in the arts. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the youth surrounding SMT, and to help them grow as dancers and performers. In 2022 she was the guest-artist choreographer for SMTY's Teen Intensive Week and Legally Blonde Jr. and in 2023 she co-facilitated SMTY Summer Camps and started the Let's Dance drop in program!
In her spare time, Aliyah can be found teaching dance, coaching soccer, and working at More Than A Dream Princess Parties. Aliyah loves to work with kids and is passionate about the importance of educating children in the arts.
