Scarborough Music Theatre invites applications for Director, Music Director, Choreographer, Producer(s), Stage Manager for their May 2027 of Catch Me If You Can, a musical drama with a libretto by Terrence McNally and a theatrical score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.
About the Show
Inspired by a true story, Catch Me If You Can follows the thrilling exploits of charming teenage con artist Frank Abagnale Jr. as he jets around the world, staying one step ahead of a determined FBI agent.
Featuring a swinging, jazz-infused score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray), this high-energy musical bursts with slick choreography, witty humor, and irresistible style. It’s a fast-paced tale of ambition, identity, and the thrill of the chase—wrapped in a dazzling Broadway spectacle.

General Information
Scarborough Music Theatre is a non-Equity, community theatre group. We attempt to interview as many people as possible but cannot guarantee interviews to all applicants. All applicants will receive an email confirming receipt of their application.
We accept both individuals and team applications. For team applications, individual resumes are required for each member. Members of team applications will be asked if they are willing to be considered separately for positions. Team applications may also include Producers and Stage Managers as part of the application. A nominal honorarium is available for each of these positions

Notes
- Rehearsals are traditionally held Monday and Wednesday evenings between 7:00pm and 10:30pm, and Sunday afternoons between 12:00pm and 6:00pm. The rehearsal period is typically 6-7 weeks. Sunday evening rehearsals are typically added only in the two weeks prior to opening, once we have moved into the theatre.
- Additional rehearsals may be scheduled on Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings at the discretion of the Artistic Staff and the Producers to meet the requirements of the show.
- The work of the Director and Choreographer end officially at the conclusion of the Preview Performance; the Music Director’s work ends officially on closing night. The Stage Manager and Producer’s positions end after the presentation of their final report to the Board of Directors.
- Each show runs at least 11 performances over 3 weeks — Thursday to Sunday in Weeks 1 and 2, Thursday to Saturday in Week 3; Additional performances may be added in Weeks 2 and 3 if there is sufficient demand for tickets.
- Performances are at the Scarborough Village Theatre, part of the Scarborough Village Recreation Centre at 3600 Kingston Road (Kingston Rd. and Markham Rd.).
- The stage is a thrust stage with orchestra loft up and behind the stage area.
- We will NOT enter in contracts with Equity or ACTRA
