Aidan is stoked to be performing in their first SMT show after recently moving from Vancouver to Toronto. Aidan has always had a deep love for Sondheim shows and is so excited to be showcasing his amazing work. Outside of performing, Aidan has experience in music directing and teaching music. Aidan is also the co-founder of Delta Players Theatre back in BC.

When Meg was…an age she won't disclose here in case anyone does the math...her parents were cast in SMT's production of Follies, and this began a fascination with Sondheim's work that would stretch...a number of years that will remain unspecified because again, math. 

She is thrilled to be part of this beautiful celebration of Sondheim's life, work and love of really, really crunchy harmony lines, performing some of the most challenging and rewarding music she's ever learned. Many thanks to her brilliant, supportive cast mates, hardworking crew, and to Dot & Miguel for trusting her with this piece. Love always to Russ, and to Mom and Dad, whose fault it is that she's here singing this specific show for you.

Dot has been honoured to be immersed in all things Sondheim for the past year along with her creative team soulmates Miguel, Amanda and Sheri!

Congratulations to Jordyn and Maya for diving into their first assistant roles in such a demanding show and slaying it!

Outside of SMT, Maya has been dancing with star dance academy for 13 years taking exams in Ballet with RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) along with Jazz and Tap with BATD (British Association of Teachers of Dancing) competing in many other styles and preforming in the Nutcracker Ballet. Maya is super excited to be a part of the creative team, she has loved working with this amazing cast and crew. While Jan has worn many hats on and backstage, she has also been an active member of the SMT Board of Directors for 15 years. She currently holds the position of Director of Membership. Mom of two young men, but before I became a Mom, Theatre was my First Love! Theatre has and will always be a Happy Place to be! 

Over the Years I have been fortunate to see many shows at SMT and it is my Favourite Community Theatre, which is why I am Elated to be a  SMT Family Member and New Board Member.

For SMT: This is William's SMT Debut

William is delighted to be part of  his first SMT music  production.  During his formative years, 

William  began ticklin’ the ivories by accompanying his father’s church choir.  Then he honed his skills at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Fast forward, he was the house accompanist for the students at Gerald Isaac Studio with annual performances including Godspell. Over a thirty year period, William was the primary accompanist for various community choirs and even sung with a few of them. He is thankful to SMT and Miguel, the music director, for the opportunity to join them on this Sondheim journey.

Amanda is thrilled to be back with SMT. There is something just magical about this theatre and the people here. While she has been onstage in farce, Shakespearean productions and musicals, Amanda is so much happier backstage or in the booth.  A special thank you to Mary Beth and Dianne for starting a lifelong theatrical journey and teaching her well. Love, and more love to Jeremy, Rachael and most of all Phillip for all their steadfast support and endless understanding.

An AV Project Manager by day, and volunteer sound designer and musician by night, Mack has spent most of his life involved in theatre and the arts. As a huge fan of Sondheim, he is thrilled to be a part of this production and is excited to be working behind the sound board once again for SMT!

Michael is a versatile woodwind musician, and Sondheim on Sondheim marks his 13th musical production. A proud graduate of Carleton University with a Bachelor of Music, Michael plays Piccolo, Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, and Soprano Saxophone in this show. Over the years, he’s developed a passion for creating rich, dynamic sounds in collaborative environments that bring each piece to life. Michael is thrilled to be a part of this production amongst a fantastic team, and looks forward to sharing the magic of musical theater with audiences. 

Alex most recently played clarinet/alto sax for Cabaret (HSP), clarinet 2 for Sound of Music (SMT), clarinet/bass clarinet/alto sax for Jekyll & Hyde (DR.BIRD PROD) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (UTC), synthesizer for Rocky Horror Show (SMT), clarinet for Putting It Together (OLT), harp (on keyboard) for Cinderella (UTC) and Anne of Green Gables (HVCP), keyboard 2 for Beauty and the Beast (UTC), clarinet/alto sax for Matilda(Marquee), clarinet/bass clarinet for Oklahoma! (SMT), reed 1 for Cabaret (JP), keyboard 3 for Jesus Christ Superstar (JDP) and clarinet/bass clarinet/alto sax/soprano sax for Urinetown (JP and WAHP). He remembers watching his first Sondheim show (Into the Woods) on VHS in the 80’s - immediately fell in love with the music and lyrics. Special shout out to my hubby and his amazing support, my puppy Xander who survived serious surgery and all my friends who are attending the show.  

Sabrina Esteban is thrilled to be performing in her third show with Scarborough Music Theatre! She was previously in the pit band for SMT’s Freaky Friday and Bridges of Madison County, and other pit orchestra credits include The Sounds of Music (OLT) and The Mad Ones (FAYC). 

Sabrina loves performing in the pit band, but also greatly enjoys performing on stage. Some previous performances include The Wizard of Oz (Ensemble), Descendants (Evil Queen), and Seussical (Bird Girl).

Sabrina is currently a first year student studying Media Production at Toronto Metropolitan university. In between work and school Sabrina finds time to work on repertoire to prepare for her RCM ARCT violin exam.

Dante is a Toronto based cellist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cello performance. Having extensive experience as a Contract Cellist for musicals, recording artists, tv/movie productions, weddings, business events and graduation ceremonies, he has played for productions around the city of Beauty and the Beast, Fiddler on the Roof, Bridges of Madison County, Fun Home, Oklahoma and our production of Freaky Friday to name a few. Dante also has acting and singing experience in musicals with roles such as Brother Jeremiah in Vanier College Production of Something Rotten as well as TikTok Tod in a Musical Workshop Production called For Show.

Antony is the principal horn for the Oakville Wind Orchestra, and plays with Gayly Forward, Toronto's 2SLGBTQIA+ marching band. When not playing, Antony is the manager of corporate planning at Kensington Health - a not-for-profit health and long-term care centre in downtown Toronto. Thanks to Miguel and Alex for bringing him into SMT  - and special thanks and congratulations to Miguel for pulling together and leading 17 performers through this beautiful and challenging score. Much love and gratitude to all of his loved ones who have come out to support! 

I have been performing and recording music for many years after studying bass at Humber College. Writing Television scores and playing in bands covering everything from Big Band Jazz to R & B, Rock and Pop. 

I’ve been fortunate to work with Scarborough Music Theatre on many productions including Little Shop of Horrors, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Mamma Mia!, The Bridges of Madison County, Freaky Friday, and The Rocky Horror Show. It’s wonderful to get to work with the hugely talented cast, directors and production team of Sondheim On Sondheim!
